Professor (Emeritus) Daniel Shefer, PhD Is a Professor of Urban and Regional Economics and ex-Dean at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology, where he has taught since 1970. Professor Shefer has served as Director of the Transportation Research Institute at the Technion, and was Senior Economist in the Urban and Regional Economics Division of the World Bank in Washington DC. His areas of expertise are: Urban and Regional Economics, Transportation Economics, Environmental Economics, Industrial Innovation, Technology Transfer, and modeling industrial location agglomeration economies and regional economic growth. He has published widely in these fields - several books, over one hundred articles in various international scientific journals and numerous of research reports.
