Postdoctoral Fellow
Urban and Regional Planning Track
Dr. Pytka is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion. She holds a B.A. in International Relations (University of Calgary), an M.Sc. in Marine Biology (Bangor University), and a Ph.D. in BioScience (University of Padova).
Her current research focuses on ecosystem–based management through marine spatial planning, integrating ecological, social, and institutional dimensions of marine conservation. She is particularly interested in how policy instruments, stakeholder engagement, and human–wildlife interactions shape conservation outcomes across marine socio–ecological systems. Combining empirical data, policy analysis, and comparative governance perspectives across local, regional, and international scales, her work identifies effective tools for translating priorities into actionable outcomes.
