This research establishes a new representational paradigm for urban techno-geographic information systems, termed Ethnographic Projection. This methodological intervention translates the lived experiences of marginalized populations into a structured, visual-computational codification and cartographic vector structure, embedding qualitative subjectivity into the digital city’s visual regimes.

The framework dismantles the epistemic trap of smart cities through a three-tiered model defining three domains: The Visible City hegemonic institutional data infrastructure; The Invisible City informal survival tactics of undocumented communities; and The Parallel City a cartographic platform simultaneously rendering both spatial realities.

Through algorithmic formalization and visual language implemented under strict ethical protocols, this critical-interpretive framework converts ethnographic insights into an evidentiary vector-symbolic structure, legitimizing invisible knowledge within the urban domain.
