The global climate crisis highlights the need for the development of new sustainable solutions for construction and manufacturing that will reduce waste, pollution, and carbon footprint. One of the strategies that might positively impact this problem is the use of intelligent materials; materials that emerge from sustainable approaches, are multifunctional, adaptable to their surroundings, and can sense or actuate mechanisms.
This conference brings together leading international researchers and industry startups to discuss future directions and potential applications of intelligent materials across scales- from the product scale to the architectural scale. The conference will focus on two major themes – intelligent materials for textiles and intelligent materials for the built environment.
