In the shadow of the heroes

The project aims to tell the story of the ‘green extensions’ in the heart of Haifa, the Wadiot of Haifa, from my personal place and childhood memories of them as a resident of the city. The project raises an issue regarding the city’s urban planning dilemma: the urban development needs it requires and the desire to preserve the values of nature and the landscape in the wadi itself.
Through a literary study of the issues arising from the issue and the formulation of a new planning approach after studying different examples and approaches around the world and applying it to the case study site of Wadi Giborim (Wadi Rushamiya), which constitutes the most prominent and serious case of human encroachment, the issue and the main question is whether it is possible to find a way to balance the needs of the city with the values ​​of its nature while reconnecting the person with the nature outside his home window.
