Congratulations to Arch. Eran Zilberman, an alumnus of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at Technion, on winning the Rechter Prize for Architecture for 2021!
The Rechter Prize is the most important award given to the architects in Israel, and Arch. Zilberman won this award for planning the new middle school in Kfar Saba.

In an interview with Haaretz a few months ago, Arch. Zilberman said that “there are no more fascinating buildings than educational buildings. Where else do we have an opportunity to influence the day-to-day lives of thousands of children, for decades? A school of 18 classrooms contains about 700 students. They are spending years in there, for the sheer purposes of making, of learning, of acquiring tools. It’s fascinating. I have goose bumps when I talk about it. I design open, transparent, democratic, accessible buildings. They have almost no corridors at all. If someone were to analyze the work of our office, he or she would find that the windows are large, there is a lot of controlled light coming in, and the windows are always at the height of the user.”
