Space, Consciousness and Sustainability
The studio serves as a platform for a critical discussion of issues on the current agenda in the Israeli space, taking a broad view of planning considerations in their historical, political, social, and cultural contexts.
In the studio, emphasis is placed on the interplay between the concrete characteristics of a space and the perception of it, between physical reality and its mental impact. This is based on the concept that the combination of the two is what creates meaning in the built environment.
Alongside environmental issues, the studio is open to any field of interest and invites journeys of discovery into unfamiliar territories in order to test and expand the boundaries of the discipline. As a pluralistic framework, it encourages students to pursue their personal interests using their preferred tools and in a tone with which they identify.
As a result, the studio's outputs are diverse in nature and reflect a wide spectrum of motivations that may range from the pragmatic to the poetic, from the naive to the critical, and from the concrete to the abstract.
