Dr. Yonat Rein-Sapir is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, under the supervision of Dr. Shira Wilkoff. Her research focuses on the development of waste management policies in Israel and the interplay between local and national governance. She completed her PhD on environmental policy initiatives in local government at the Department of Geography, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Her research focuses on public policy, the relationship between local and central governments, and local environmental initiatives, particularly in the areas of waste management and non-motorized transportation.
She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and Middle Eastern studies, as well as a master's degree in public policy (both from the Hebrew university). Yonat was a visiting researcher at the Bartlett school of planning, UCL, researching bicycle lanes schemes in London under the guidance of Prof. Robin Hickman.
Yonat is married to Aviad and is a mother of three children.
