In our study, we analyze how Design Thinking (DT) and, specifically, the process of 7D developed by Ezri Tarazi ,supports motivational learning.
The case study is based on the Ministry of Education in Israel Jam-Tech program, used in ten secondary schools in Israel since 2014.
The study research the existence of the ARCS(Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction) elements (Keller) in the DT implementation of the case study. The findings indicate that the 7D method includes all four elements of the ARCS, but when the method transfer from the teacher to the students, the fourth element starts to fade.
The result is a set of recommendations for maximizing the motivational potential in the Jam-Tech project. The jam tech uses the 7D method and the research examines it by focusing on the ARCS elements, while trying to conclude a bigger understanding of Design thinking and motivational learning.
