Assoc. Prof. Daniella Hirschfeld

Visiting Associate Professor

Urban and Regional Planning Track


Daniella Hirschfeld is an associate professor of environmental planning. She weaves together the fields of urban ecology and environmental planning to investigate resilient systems. To conduct her work, she runs the resilience hub lab with the explicit purpose of helping vulnerable people and ecosystems build resilience and thrive in the face of a changing climate. She works with her students to use a mixed methods approach that blends natural and social sciences to inform professional practice and relevant policies. Dr. Hirschfeld's received her PhD in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning from University of California, Berkeley. Daniella received her bachelor's degree in psychology and philosophy at Dartmouth College and her master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment. Daniella also has professional experience in coastal zone management, sustainability planning, and urban planning.
