The Landau Prizes for Arts and Sciences, awarded by Mifal HaPais, have been granted annually since 2000 to four researchers and four artists who have recently achieved significant accomplishments in their fields and made meaningful contributions to cultural and artistic life, as well as to the advancement of science and research.
From the award letter:
“Kimmel Eshkolot Architects,” founded by Eitan Kimmel and Michal Eshkolot, has been active for four decades and is considered one of the most prominent and dynamic architectural firms in Israel.
Over the years, the firm has designed a wide range of public and private projects, specializing in major public buildings.
Their work is characterized by a distinct and uncompromising aesthetic line, with exceptional attention to construction quality and detail.
Beyond architectural excellence, the firm has succeeded in developing a unique and sensitive language that blends local characteristics with an international approach, leaving a mark on national projects such as the National Memorial Hall on Mount Herzel, Tower of David Museum, Beit Halochem, and the Davidson Center.
Alongside the firm’s architectural work, Eitan Kimmel is also active in the academic sphere, passing on the firm’s knowledge and experience to the next generation of architects.
This is the first time the Landau Prize is awarded in the field of architecture, and the recognition of Kimmel Eshkolot Architects sets a high bar for future recipients.”
