Congratulations to Asst. Profs. Shany Barath and Guy Austern on winning the Uzi & Michal Halevy Award for Innovative Applied Engineering 2026 for the research project #ReWood³ (Reclaim–Reengineer–Rebuild).

ReWood³ transforms wood waste into a high-performance, construction-ready biocomposite, providing a scalable alternative to conventional resource-intensive and environmentally harmful construction materials. ReWood³ building components are precision-engineered for additive manufacturing using machine learning models to predict material behavior.

This achievement reflects the dedication and collaboration of the teams at Disrupt.Design Lab (D.DLab): Ashish Jain, Avi Cohen, and lab manager Matan Sade Hemmo, together with the Computational Design and Machine Learning (CD_ML) lab: Kushagra Gautam and Itay Blaistain.
