Hadas Ophrat :Art Intervention in the city: Spatial Practices in Times of Crisis

Art interventions as an expression of protection and rehabilitation of the urban ecosystem are reflected in acts of protest against environmental hazards and climate change, and in the formulation of practical measures to confront them. Art interventions pertaining to the ecological crisis require collaboration with corporations, industries, construction companies, international manpower, etc., as well as with government offices responsible for policy-making and enforcement. Artists, architects, industrial designers and social activists harness the artistic means at their disposal to create awareness of the environmental, ecological and COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Due to the intensive urbanization processes and current global threats, the creative trends and means to be reviewed as part of the colloquium lecture are crucial.
